I have always had good service and experience with the Holiday Inn brands in Moscow. It hits the sweet spot for me between affordable and comfortable. This location was right by a metro station, the Sokolniki stop.

The check in process went smoothly and as a Platinum member they upgraded my room to a larger room.

Entering the room, there was a note from the manager welcoming me and offering any assistance I needed during my stay as well as a welcome snack.

The room was incredibly large and perfect for my needs to do some work at the desk and relax as well.

Looking inside the closet, I found what looked like a gas mask which I assume would be for any emergencies.

There are plenty of places to eat in walking distance of the hotel. To the right of the hotel is a McDonald’s that had a touch screen ordering system which was very handy as I speak no Russian. Across the street was a Kentucky Fried Chicken. Ordering my food there was quite challenging as the cashier didn’t quite understand what I was saying in English. Fortunately two teenage girls in line helped explain to the cashier in Russian what I was ordering.
There was a lot of meeting room space in the hotel as well, enough for an event of several hundred people.
Overall this was a nice and safe spot, close to a metro and a pleasant affordable stay in Moscow.
