I received a targeted email from Starbucks informing me of a new promotion that runs from October 20th to the 28th. The promotion is that you can earn 4 Bonus Stars on any purchase over $10. There is no limit to the Bonus Stars you can earn.

I was curious if gift card purchases would trigger the bonus 4 stars so I went into the store and purchased a $10 gift card.

Today I checked my balance and gift card purchases do trigger the bonus 4 stars. If you have received this promotion, then you can churn bonus stars as many times as you want during the promotional period. As a Gold member, every 12 stars earned trigger a free food or beverage item. I like to use the free item on a brisket sandwich.
